A Road Running Club The Port City Pacers (PCP) was organized in Mobile, Alabama in 1979 as a non-profit chapter of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). It was founded to educate Mobilians about the benefits of running and walking. The club is committed to promoting and encouraging participation in road races. We produce the Azalea Trail Run ... The Port City Pacers produce the nationally acclaimed Azalea Trail Run. Since the first ATR in 1978, the 10K and 5K races and the 2K fun run have grown to attract thousands of world-class and recreational runners, walkers, and wheelchair athletes annually." ... Plus a whole lot more! Each year we produce a series of public races with distances ranging from 2 miles to the half marathon. The club also publishes a monthly newsletter, the PaceLetter, to report race results, announce upcoming events, and share other news of interest to the running community.
